Children Learning Reading Reviews: How to Teach Your Child to Read the Fun And Easy Way

Childrenlearningreading

Children Learning Reading: Learning to read is an important step in a child’s life. Some children recover faster than others due to a number of factors. Statistics show that only 2% of children starting kindergarten can read simple sight words.

That is why some parents are looking for programs to help their children learn to read earlier. They want to give their children a head start when it comes to their education. There are many programs that aim to teach children to learn from an early age. Children Learning Reading is one such program.

This can be helpful if you are considering using a program to get your child off to a good start or just want to help if they have already started learning to read. Let’s see how the program works, what it includes, pros and cons.

What is the Children Learning Reading Program?

The children’s reading program was created by Jim Yang, who sought to teach his children to read before the age of 3. It is aimed at children aged 2 to 6 years old.

The program is easy to use as it provides parents with step-by-step instructions on how to teach their children to read. En utilisant des concepts phonétiques, il vise à aider les enfants à apprendre à lire. It works on the concept that phonological awareness helps children learn to interpret and read texts.

While reviewing reviews of Kids Learn to Read, parents who have had success with the program commented everything is broken down and easy to follow. This helps not only children but also parents.

What Does the Children Learning Reading Program Include?

The program includes e-books that can be purchased in a standard package or a premium package. The premium plan has more resources for parents but is more expensive.

The standard package includes:

  • Phonics Foundation Teaching Manual with 32 step-by-step lessons
  • Lesson printouts and flashcards
  • Fun to read stories and nursery rhymes
  • Letter sound MP3 audio
  • Program updates

The premium package includes everything in the standard package along with additional prints and video lessons. The videos capture the 12-week period of learning to read that the creator went through with her second child. It shows how the lessons are taught and how a two-and-a-half-year-old can learn to read.

Who Is the Children Learning Reading Program Designed For?

The Children Learning Reading program is designed for parents with young children aged 2-7. It is designed to effectively teach toddlers and young children to read. One important thing to keep in mind is that this program is not designed for young children or children who have not yet learned to speak. However, if your child has already learned to speak, you can use this program to teach him or her to read.

A central goal of Kids Learn to Read is to help your child learn to decode printed text quickly and learn to read fluently through the important process of developing phonemic awareness. Phonemic awareness is arguably one of the most important aspects of learning to read and reading fluency. Children who lack phonological awareness often have difficulty reading and eventually become poor readers.

The Children Learn to Read Program is an extremely simple, easy-to-understand and step-by-step program. The program includes simple exercises and practices, starting from the first lessons that help your child develop phonological awareness and learn to read. Clinical studies, and even the National Reading Council, have stated that helping children develop phonemic awareness is one of the most effective ways to teach children to read.

How Does the Children Learning Reading Program Work?

The program is designed to teach your child in two stages, and each phase has its own manual and step-by-step lessons. Stage 1 helps your child develop all the fundamental skills important for learning to read and read fluently, while Stage 2 lessons cover slightly more advanced lessons that greatly advance Your child’s already impressive reading skills are developed from the lessons in Stage 1.

There are 28 lessons in Phase One that are well organized to teach your child starting with the basics of reading printed text. The letters and sounds of the alphabet are presented to your child in ascending, sensitive and intuitive order through 28 lessons.

Very simple words and matching exercises are introduced at the beginning, and more complex words, phrases, stories and rhymes are introduced gradually along with the lessons as your child progresses. By the time you complete your Stage One lessons with your child, your child has developed amazing reading skills that will sometimes surprise and amaze you.

Once you’ve completed Phase 1, you can move on to the Phase 2 lessons, which include teaching more complex reading-related topics. There are 22 lessons in the second phase. One of the main purposes of this stage is to teach your child how to combine letters or ligatures. The words, sentences, lesson stories and rhymes here further enhance and dramatically improve your child’s reading skills and fluency.

Here are what some of our customers have said:

Children Learning Reading Customer Reviews

One great thing about Kids Learn to Read is that it doesn’t require your child to explicitly memorize pronunciation rules! As a parent, I’m sure you can imagine how difficult it is for toddlers and young children to memorize reading rules! The great thing about Kids Learning to Read is that throughout the program, your child learns to read and develops the extraordinary reading and decoding skills memorizing no phonics rules.

Therefore our program is so effective in teaching children to read. Another great advantage of this program is that the step-by-step lessons are designed to be quick and efficient. Each lesson rarely exceeds 5-10 minutes and some lessons only 2-3 minutes. With young children’s short attention spans, short lessons like these are much more effective and productive than lengthy ones.

To teach your child to read, simply follow the lessons step by step and spend 5-10 minutes a day teaching your child to read. In just 12 short weeks, you’ll be so happy you’ve taken the time and effort to teach your child the most important skill in life: reading.

How Children Learning Reading Program Different From Other Reading Programs?

Many methods of teaching children to read by memorizing the shape of words, this is a completely wrong and detrimental way to teach children to read.

Unfortunately, many schools also use this method and teach children to read by giving them words to memorize. Extensive research by the National Reading Panel shows that understanding phonics and NOT memorizing sight words is the right way to teach children to read. This program is based on teaching children synthetic phonics and phonemic awareness.

Simply put, children learn to recognize the sounds of each letter and then string those sounds together using a concept called mixing. Mixing is fundamental to a child’s reading success; once they understand the combination, reading becomes child’s play for them.

Pros of Children Learning Reading

I wrote this children learning reading review for kids because I believe in it so much. Therefore, I would recommend it to all my toddler mom friends without blinking:

1. It starts very basic and slow and only gradually moves to higher concepts. So it’s tailored to meet the needs of young children (I can’t stress that much!)

2. It’s sequential, which I really like. Each concept builds on a previous one in a very logical way.

3. As a parent, I have no preparation to do all the work that has been done

4. Each lesson lasts 10 minutes or fewer, so you really need 10 minutes of free time in the day to complete the lesson

5. In the middle of the Stage 1 book, your child can read a short story in 3-4 sentences. What I like is that at the end of each lesson, there is a little story that corresponds to what the child has just learned. The story uses only words your child has learned so far. So this is not only a great review of the learned concept, but also helps your child gain confidence in reading.

6. It WORKS. It’s a simple, effective, and proven system that delivers results. Your child will read fluently when you complete the program!

Cons of Children Learning Reading

This takes time and commitment from parents. This is not a program where you can put your child in front of a screen and expect to see the results. You should spend 10 minutes a day doing homework with your child, and cuddling and reading to your child. If you can’t make time for it, then this reading program is not for you.

How Effective is Children Learning Reading as an Educational Program?

Any reading program must be efficient. It is not negotiable. That’s why it tops my list of criteria. While it is exciting to see over 78,600 parents successfully teaching their children to read using Children Learning Reading, it is not enough.

Knowing what the program is based on is a better way to judge. And if like me, you’re looking for the best ways to teach your child to read, you know phonics is the way to go. Because they widely accepted it as the most effective method for learning to read.

After working with the Children Learn to Read program, was based on the explicit teaching of integrated phonemic and phonemic awareness. Before revealing why this is a good thing, let me briefly explain what phonemic awareness and synthetic phonetics are.

Phonemic Awareness: Phonemic awareness is your child’s ability to hear and manipulate sounds in speech. This is important in any writing system like English because the letters represent sounds.

Therefore, understanding these sounds is the foundation for learning to read. Without phonemic awareness, learning to read is almost impossible. And this is also the key difference between good and weak readers.

Synthetic Phonics: Also known as mixed phonetics. Synthetic phonetics is the most effective form of phonics teaching. It is the process by which you teach your child the correspondence between spoken and written sounds. You teach your child to read words by mixing and segmenting sounds.

This takes the guesswork out of reading and ensures your child understands how to read. And don’t just try to memorize the shapes of words to guess their way through a sentence (this is one of the main reasons readers read poorly and misspell).

How Much Time Do You Need to Dedicate to Children Learning Reading?

The first 5 lessons are very short and will take you about 3-4 minutes. The longer ones take about 6-7 minutes. Your child will get the best results by following a specific lesson twice a day. So you plan to spend only 10-15 minutes a day getting the most out of the program.

It doesn’t matter how busy we are. Investing 10-15 minutes a day in teaching our children an important skill that directly affects their academic future is completely manageable. And it’s certainly worth it.

Several parents have contacted me with questions about their children learning to read. Of course, they want the best for their child and don’t want to waste time on a program that is ineffective and harmful to the child’s development.

Many Modern Learn to Read Programs Have Apps. Why Should I Choose Children Learning Reading Over Them?

Honestly, there are some great apps for learning to read.

While engaging, they are still a form of passive learning. And your child would love to spend time with you, where he will get your full attention. That’s why it’s sad to see today’s technology act as a babysitter and quality 1-on-1 substitution between parents and their children.

You know your child better than any app. Your parenting instincts are much more accurate in detecting problems your child has in the learning process. You understand that the most important step in learning to read is to establish a strong reading foundation. And that is exactly what Children Learning to Read does.

Once your child has this background and a solid understanding of how reading works, consider a reading app to complement this program and provide a new way of reading for your child to enjoy. Plus, the special 1-on-1 bonding you’ll enjoy while doing Kids Learn to Read is a precious memory that you and your child will never forget.

Is Children Learning Reading Worth it?

I covered this earlier in this review but just wanted to add a few quick points. Jim has over 10 years of experience teaching children to read and over 78,600 parents have had great success using the program. Personally, I have received nothing but positive feedback from the parents I have referred Children to Read and have seen noticeable results and improvements. Don’t forget that the whole program is not based solely on teaching phonics. But teaching what is widely accepted as the most effective form of pronunciation.

Where to Buy “Children Learning Reading”

The “Children learn to read” system can be purchased from the product’s official website. As I mentioned above, the hint card print is priceless but (at the time of this writing) only available in the premium version. If you’re hesitant to make a purchase, remember that the program comes with a 60-day money-back guarantee – no questions asked. That’s more than enough time to determine if it’s right for you and return if not.

ChildrenLearningReading: Final Thoughts

A children’s reading program is a good investment if you want to teach your child to read from an early age. It’s an easy-to-follow program that guides parents step-by-step about what to do. The program is affordable, with no monthly subscriptions or hidden fees. It is attractive.

Since the program doesn’t work on the idea of memorization, it has a good success rate. Parents also like it because it doesn’t take too much time. Lessons last only 10 to 15 minutes. This is good for parents who don’t have a lot of free time or for kids with short attention spans.

Although the program requires internet access, this is not a problem for many people. Overall, if you’re looking for a program that teaches your child to read from an early age, this is a good choice, especially if you don’t want to commit to a monthly fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age should a child be able to read?

There is no definitive answer to this question, as it depends on a variety of factors, including the child’s age, intelligence, and learning style. However, most experts believe children should read by the time they are 4 or 5 years old. This is in line with current literacy standards set by many schools and governments around the world. Early exposure to reading can help boost a child’s vocabulary and comprehension skills. So whether your child starts kindergarten at age 3 or 4yrs old like mine did–you’re doing them (and yourself) a big favor!

What is the best way to teach a child to read?

If you’re looking for a systematic and gradual way to teach your child to read, then reading aloud may be the best option. Reading aloud helps children build vocabulary, understand grammar rules, and develop fluency. It teaches them how to focus their attention on tasks that are important to them.

Reading together as a family or with friends also promotes socialization skills and builds community engagement. This can be an enriching experience for both the reader and listener alike! So start out by selecting books that are appropriate for your child’s age group and interests, practice reading regularly throughout the week (even if only parts of these books), and make sure you give yourself time each day away from busy schedules so that you can relax to undertake on this important task!

What are the Best Ways to Teach a Child To Read?

There are many ways to teach a child how to read. However, the best way is to use a combination of methods. The best way for a child to learn how to read is by combining the traditional method of teaching reading with technology-based methods. For example, if you want your child to learn how to read words, you can have them use an app that will teach them the letters in each word and then have them write the word using those letters.

How can I help my child who is struggling to read?

One of the best ways to help your child who is struggling to read is by providing them with quality reading material. This can be something as simple as comics or magazines that are geared toward children, or books specifically designed for struggling readers.

It’s also important to find a tutor that will work closely with your child and build rapport, so they feel comfortable sharing their struggles.
Finally, make sure you set aside time every day to read together. Reading aloud helps children learn how to decode text and improves vocabulary skills. By doing these three things, you’ll be on the road to helping your child achieve their reading goals!

How to teach a 7-year-old to read and write?

For teaching a 7-year-old to read and write, there are a few things that you should keep in mind. First, focus on developing early literacy skills by engaging them in fun activities like reading stories together or making homemade books. This will help develop their love for reading and make the process more enjoyable for both of you.

Set a good example yourself by using proper grammar and spelling when communicating with your child. It is also important to expose them to different literature from an early age so that they can start building an extensive vocabulary. Finally, encourage your child to explore writing opportunities through journaling or creativity exercises as they progress from middle school years onward.

What is the fastest way to teach a child to read and write?
One of the best ways to teach a child to read and write is through guided reading programs. These programs use fiction and non-fiction books that are specifically designed for children ages 3-8 years old. They provide in-depth explanations of the stories, accompanying multimedia materials, activities, and skill practice drills. This approach provides critical foundational skills while also fostering a love for reading and writing. We have shown it to promote vocabulary acquisition and reinforce grammar rules early on.
Another great way to teach kids how to read is by using phonics methods such as those found in basal reader instruction or systematic phonics teaching aids like McGraw Hill’s Phonics Adventure series or Dr Popper & Sperry’s Learning To Read with Phonics program (which comes with an electronic learning tool). With these methods, students learn letter recognition along with decoding skills, so they can start understanding story fluency later on down the road.
How to Teach Your Child to Read
What can I do to engage my kids with reading?

Reading can be a very special and relaxing experience for kids, but more active activities often overshadow it. One way to engage your children with reading is by choosing books that apply to their interests. This means finding out what topics they are interested in and exploring those topics through literature.

Make reading fun. Alternate with other parents who have similar passions and take turns picking book titles or discussing favorite passages during family reading time. Let your child know that there’s no wrong answer for meaningfully engaging with the written word!
